Ottawa – On Monday, June 7 at 11 am, Palestinian refugee Jihan Qunoo will visit the Prime Minister’s Office at 80 Wellington Street (East entrance) to request an urgent meeting with Justin Trudeau as part of her fight to bring her three traumatized girls and husband to Ottawa from war-ravaged Gaza.

The desecration of Masjid al-Aqsa and violence in its surrounding regions is deeply disturbing and unacceptable.

The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) today forcefully denounces the attack carried out Friday night by Israeli forces on the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem as thousands of Palestinian worshippers participated in evening prayers during Ramadan.

The Association of Palestinian Arab Canadians (APAC) hosted Palestine Day on the Hill for a sixth year in a row, and achieved a wide presence and a great success praised by all observers and participants alike.

Over the course of the film Walaa shines as an eloquent and brave young woman, determined to fight for her ideals. It is incredible to watch her grow and evolve, which the film conveys beautifully in contemplative close-ups ....it is refreshing to see a film that portrays such a proud, resilient, young Palestinian woman. Dr. Habib Khoury is a Palestinian Canadian practicing dentistry at Centrum Dental Care in Kanata. In 2015, he came up with the idea of finding an innovative way to raise funds for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA)’s Community Mental Health Program which supports Palestinians, particularly children, who are coping with mental health issues such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He spearheaded the annual Ottawa Run for Palestine, now in its third year.

It takes place this Sunday, September 24. This year the run has a new route from Ottawa City Hall to Dows Lake. a 2K Family Walk and a 5K and 10K professional run. The run is followed by a Family BBQ with multiple activities for children, as well as cultural activities such as Dabke.

This year, the Ottawa Run for Palestine is also fundraising for the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO)'s youth mental health program.
