Yesterday, Calgary Police descended on the University of Calgary to break the encampments, in scenes reminiscent of attacks on students protestors many years ago at Kent State.

We [National Council of Canadian Muslims] are at the Supreme Court of Canada this week to launch our new battle to strike down Quebec’s Bill 21 law that bans people from wearing hijab and other religious symbols in the public service.

Today, as we inch closer to the midway point of this holy month, so many of our hearts continue to ache as the people of Gaza and Palestine continue to face renewed invasion and bombardment.
