NCCM Condemns Suspected Hate-Motivated Arson in London, ON
Written by National Council of Canadian Muslims Published in News
It is beyond words how deeply disturbing, disappointing, and ugly this latest arson attack on a private residence in North London has been.
Just a few days after the third anniversary of the Islamophobic terror attack that took away #OurLondonFamily, this latest incident follows multiple vandalisms and threats against the same residence.
The property has also had multiple signs calling for an end to Islamophobia and peace in Palestine stolen and damaged.
It is almost impossible to find the words to describe the anguish and disappointment our community feels regarding these attacks in London.
We are in touch with all parties on the ground, including authorities. We are encouraging authorities to fully examine all angles of this incident, including hate motivation.
We have been promised better. Our leaders have promised to do better, to work for real change.
We are working with community members on how to address what happened, and will have more to say very soon.

Please see this statement from the London Police Service on the deeply disturbing and ugly arson attack on a family residence in North London.
This family has also had their signs calling for Palestinian human rights, as well as for an end to Islamophobia, repeatedly damaged and stolen. They have also been threatened.
All this as we commemorate the third anniversary of the Islamophobic terror attack that took away #OurLondonFamily.
Enough is enough.
This has to stop.
