June 14th, 2024 NCCM is launching a highly anticipated study on the effects of Bill 21 on Quebec Muslim women’s employment during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We [National Council of Canadian Muslims] are at the Supreme Court of Canada this week to launch our new battle to strike down Quebec’s Bill 21 law that bans people from wearing hijab and other religious symbols in the public service.

We began our battle alongside our allies against Quebec’s religious symbols ban on June 17, 2019 - the day after Bill 21 was passed.

The Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) is disappointed by the Quebec Superior Court’s decision to uphold much of An Act respecting the laicity of the State (Bill 21).
