Alberta’s government is working with the Alberta Council of Imams and the Al Rashid Mosque to explore opportunities for Islamic compliant, or halal, financing.
Edmonton – As a part of the Extreme Weather Response activation, the Al Rashid Mosque will reactivate its winter shelter and open its doors to provide a safe and warm space for Edmonton’s most vulnerable citizens.

The Olive Tree Foundation is pleased to announce that a grant of $100,000 has been awarded to Edmonton’s Canadian Islamic Centre (Al Rashid Mosque) for a project that will support victims of Islamophobia.
Since December 2020, there has been assaults and attacks on Black and racialized Muslim women in Edmonton, Alberta, most of which go unreported.
