Ottawa, 9 October 2024 -- As the humanitarian situation in Lebanon continues to deteriorate rapidly --with more than 2,000 people killed, more than 9,800 injured and an estimated one million people fleeing violence--the Humanitarian Coalition, comprised of 12 of Canada's largest aid organizations [including Islamic Relief Canada], has launched an urgent appeal for donations to respond to the escalating humanitarian needs.

In response to the combined impact of conflict, climate and hunger in parts of east Africa, along with the ripple effects of the conflict in Sudan, leading Canadian aid agencies – working together as the Humanitarian Coalition – are raising funds to rush assistance to people in need.
