Human Concern International Calgary Program Coordinator (Part-Time)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part Time-Program Coordinator to support new families from Gaza who are facing financial hardship. This role will focus on providing economic relief, fostering workplace exposure, and building pathways for sustainable employment. The successful candidate will help participants gain familiarity with Canadian workplace standards, strengthen their language skills, and connect with local businesses to increase employment opportunities.
Position Title: Program Coordinator
Location: Calgary (Remote)
Number of Positions: 1
Terms: Seasonal (3 Month Contract) – 20 hours per week

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate access to resources, support programs, and partnerships that provide immediate financial assistance to families in need.
- Design and coordinate opportunities for participants to observe and engage in Canadian workplace environments, helping them understand professional standards and expectations.
- Encourage and enhance language development through structured workplace interactions, mentorship, and direct employer engagement.
- Build relationships with local businesses, community partners, and employers to create job placements, internships, and volunteer opportunities for participants.
- Develop initiatives that promote both social and economic integration of families into the broader community.
- Track program outcomes, collect feedback, and report on progress to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with community needs.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Post-secondary degree in social work, community development, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with newcomers, refugees, or vulnerable communities.
- Strong understanding of employment services, workforce development, or settlement services.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build partnerships with businesses, community organizations, and government agencies.
- Proficiency in Arabic is an asset.
- Empathetic and culturally sensitive.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
- Commitment to empowering individuals and fostering inclusive communities.
