Calgary, Alberta, 2024/01/29 - The Muslim Council of Calgary (“MCC”) is gravely concerned about the wellbeing of Mr. Mansour Shouman, a Calgarian, a former board member of the MCC and a Palestinian activist, currently in Gaza amidst escalating violence. Recent bombardments by the Israel Occupation Forces have intensified, and multiple eyewitnesses were present as Mr. Shouman was abducted by the Israeli Occupation Forces.
January 29th, 2024 – Oakville, On this day we remember Ibrahima Barry, Mamadou Tanou Barry, Khaled Belkacemi, Abdelkrim Hassane, Azzedine Soufiane, Aboubaker Thabti and all those who were injured or impacted when a terrorist gunman opened fire at the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec in Sainte-Foy, 7 years ago.
On this National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia, we recall the tragic events of seven years ago. A lone gunman entered the Quebec Islamic Cultural Centre, killing six and injuring many. The impact was profound, leaving 17 children fatherless, six wives widowed, and communities nationwide affected. It remains the deadliest mass murder in a Canadian house of worship.

The International Court of Justice has issued a ground-breaking decision in South Africa’s genocide case against Israel, ordering Israel to comply with six provisional measures to safeguard the right of Palestinians in Gaza to be protected from genocidal violence.
Mansour Shouman has gone missing. It is believed he was abducted by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). He regularly reported what was on the siege of Gaza thorugh his social media and was regularly interviewed by English language meeting about what life was like on the ground for Gazan civilians.
