Al Rashid Mosque severs business relationship with Canadian Halal Financial Corporation (CHFC)

Al Rashid Mosque had diligently worked to find a Halal mortgage solution that is Shariah-compliant for our community. Our Islamic Finance Committee had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Canadian Halal Financial Corporation to provide a halal mortgage solution based upon Islamic principles where we reviewed, approved, and verified each mortgage and issued a Halal Certificate to the owner.

Unfortunately, some concerns have come to our attention and we can no longer continue the partnership with CHFC. This does not affect the Al Rashid approved mortgages or the validity of any previously given Halal Certificate.

Our Al Rashid Islamic Finance Committee is pursuing a better alternative for our community. We are diligently working with the Provincial government to create a Shariah-compliant Halal mortgage product that is competitive with a conventional mortgage. Inshaa Allah, we hope to announce details in the near future.
