National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack: Join the Green Square Campaign
Written by National Council of Canadian MuslimsHelp Stem the Tide against violent #Islamophobia.
This January 29th, the seventh anniversary of the Quebec City mosque shooting that shook this country, join the National Council of Canadians Muslims (NCCM)'s #GreenSquareCampaign.
Make sure to pin a small piece of green fabric to your lapel to show solidarity with the ongoing battle against violent #Islamophobia, from Quebec City to London, Ontario. Green is the colour of the Quebec City Mosque carpet where our beloved worshippers stood. It is also the colour of Paradise.
We cannot stand by as Islamophobia continues to spike across Canada.
January 29th is now officially the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia, so ask your local city leaders and your business leaders what they are doing to Stem the Tide of rising Islamophobia.
What are they doing to make sure that another Quebec City shooting or another Islamophobic attack in London, Ontario, does not occur?
Monuments across the country, will be lit green on this National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia. Monuments include:
Victoria: BC Legislature
Edmonton: High Level Bridge
Mississauga: City Hall
Toronto: City Hall
It is time for all of us to step up. It is time to Stem the Tide of rising Islamophobia.
