On Monday, April 23rd the team were on Parliament Hill building 100 food baskets for those in need within the Ottawa community with parliamentarians. This was in addition to the 500 built by volunteers at the Ottawa Food Bank on Sunday, April 22nd.

According to the Muslim Welfare Centre "With over 850,000 Canadians using food banks each month and one third being children and youth, this special Project Ramadan event [encouraged] parliamentarians to build baskets, build bridges and fight hunger across Canada."

The event was sponsored by MP Omar Alghabra and supported by Senator Salma Ataullahjan (photo below). Several Members of Parlliament attended, including Andrew Scheer (photo below), Leader of the Official Opposition.

If you would like to volunteer to build food baskets with Project Ramadan they will be coming to cities across the GTA and Hamilton. For details, visit their website here.
