Goodable Announces Launch of the World's First 24/7 News Platform That Improves Your Mental Health
Written by Goodable
TORONTO, CANADA, March 2022 – Goodable Inc is excited to announce the release of the Goodable app, available on iOS and Android. It marks the first time ever that a news company is entering the Health & Wellness space, through providing verified positive news, daily micro-goals, and resources designed to help users improve their mental health.
Goodable, a proudly Canadian startup, was founded in 2020 with a simple purpose: to create the world’s happiest and healthiest news experience. With an audience of nearly 40 million per month on social, Goodable harnesses the power of news to actively improve your mental health.
By delivering verified good news and psychologist approved daily check-ins, Goodable is combining two markets that have never been combined before: News and Health & Wellness. Goodable’s in-house built machine learning has the power to scan thousands of news sources everyday from around the world, then identify which articles are positive and uplifting. In an industry first, each article is then assigned a unique “Happiness Score” and optimised for three outcomes: To help users feel better, sleep better, and perform better. Goodable Spark, the app’s mental health and wellness module, features a set of daily activities designed with the help of Dr. Vivien Lee, one of Canada’s leading psychologists. Each activity is purpose built to be completed in just five minutes a day and at the user’s own pace, to help reduce anxiety and depression.
Goodable was founded in Toronto by veteran CNN and ABC Warzone Correspondent Muhammad Lila, a multi Emmy/SAJA nominated journalist who averaged 100+ flights per year covering global conflicts from the frontlines. After years of covering the world’s biggest problems, Lila decided he wanted to help solve them instead. What started as a small idea turned into a global movement. Goodable quickly oversubscribed its first funding round, led by top-tier investors including one of the biggest names in Hollywood, and hired a newsroom of industry leaders, including journalists, engineers, designers, developers, and more — all with a goal to change the world for good.
“Everybody knows the news is broken,” explains Lila. “It’s making us depressed on a global scale, with no end in sight. We built Goodable to fix that problem right at the source.”
With the launch of the Goodable app, users will now be able to access Goodable at their fingertips, with breaking good news alerts and tools that harness the news to improve your mental health.
Today’s announcement is one of several that Goodable will be making in the coming weeks as it expands into new markets with new innovative offerings that will forever change the way users consume the news.
The Goodable app is now available across all countries for free, with an in-app purchase of Goodable Spark available for $14.99 USD and $20.99 CAD.
