Simon Fraser University Part-Time Community Outreach Coordinator for the BC Expansion of the Muslims in Canada Archive
The Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies at Simon Fraser University and the Muslims in Canada Archives at the University of Toronto are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to develop the Muslims in Canada Archives (MiCA) project in British Columbia.
The Muslims in Canada Archives (MiCA) is an ambitious project designed to document and share the lives and histories of Muslims across Canada. In partnership with the Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies (CCMS) at Simon Fraser University, the MiCA established a new hub in British Columbia to better document the rich heritage of Muslim communities across Western Canada. In partnership with the CCMS, the Archives is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time Community Outreach Coordinator in Vancouver, BC.
The successful candidate will meet with community members and organizations, conduct site visits, support the management of physical collections, and conduct various outreach-related tasks and duties. This role is ideal for someone passionate about history, archiving, and community engagement, with experience working with and/or knowledge of Muslim communities in British Columbia.
