The Muslim International Film Festival (MIFF) celebrates the artistry, diversity, and excellence of Muslim voices in cinema. Join us October 10th–13th, 2025, in Toronto for four days of films, panels, and community.
The Muslim International Film Festival (MIFF) was founded to create a home for Muslim creatives and audiences in the global film industry. Since 2019, MIFF has welcomed filmmakers and film lovers from around the world to Toronto for a celebration of storytelling that is bold, authentic, and unapologetically Muslim.
Deadlines:
Early bird - April 13, 2026
Regular - May 29, 2026
Late - June 22, 2026
We accept films that meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Associated with Muslim filmmakers, crew members and/or creatives
- Representative of Islamic themes or symbolism
- References individuals, groups and figures of the Muslim faith
- Addresses issues within Muslim communities
- Filmed in, originated from or refers to Muslim majority countries
Note: MIFF does not identify as a religious entity and does not condone discrimination against any faith or culture.
Subtitles
Please ensure that your submitted films have subtitles, especially if the film content is not in English.
Censorship
MIFF aims to be an inclusive space for all, including family-friendly audiences. As such, we encourage participating filmmakers to censor profanity and subjective scenes in their film to the best of their ability.
