Visit Your MPs: Gazan Canadians Need You To Contact Your Member of Parliament Now To Help Save Their Loved Ones
Written by Gazan CanadiansJoin the “Visit Your MP” Campaign!
From Friday, November 22 to Friday, November 29, Gazan Canadians desperate to bring their loved ones to safety are asking for your support to mobilize a nationwide effort to urge your Members of Parliament (MPs) to address critical flaws in Canada’s Temporary Residence Visa (TRV) program for Palestinians from Gaza.
The TRV program for Palestinians in Gaza was created as a humanitarian initiative, yet systemic barriers have made it difficult for families to reunite safely in Canada.
Despite numerous applications, only a small fraction of families have been able to reach safety under this program. This campaign seeks to raise awareness and advocate for meaningful reforms to address these shortcomings.
A toolkit was designed by Gazan Canadians, Canadian Muslim Public Affairs Council (CMPAC), Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME), Amnesty International, Righting Relations, and She Associates, to help you become better informed about the issues and advocate on behalf of Gazans.
By meeting with local MPs, using the comprehensive Toolkit and sharing concerns about the program’s limitations, we can push for the reforms needed to ensure a safe and dignified reunification process.
Together, we can amplify the call for justice and urge Canada to uphold its humanitarian commitments.
