Together for Canada: Video Series for Canadian Islamic History Month 2025

This October, we celebrate Canadian Islamic History Month and the many contributions of Muslim communities to our shared Canadian story.

Comprising nearly five percent of our country’s population, Canadian Muslims continue to enrich our communities in countless ways, from innovation to culture and civic engagement. This month is an opportunity to reflect on those achievements and to recognize our potential to build an even brighter future together.

This month, I invite you to explore the “Together for Canada” video series, launched in Montreal (Quebec)— where the voices of Canadian Muslims come alive through stories of resilience, belonging, and success. This builds on the “Celebrating Generations of Canadian Muslims” campaign from Ottawa (Ontario) last year, and the “Celebrating the Contributions of Muslim Women and Girls” campaign from Edmonton (Alberta) in 2023.

.

Together, we can build a country where every person has a place, a voice, and a future. Let’s move forward—Together for Canada.

Together for Canada is a reminder that together, we can advance inclusion for a country where everyone has a place, a voice, and a future. Together for Canada reminds us of our shared responsibility to confront hate in all of its forms, and when united, we stand stronger in protecting Canadian values of diversity and understanding of one another.

The Office of the Special Representative on Combatting Islamophobia invites all Canadians to join the Together for Canada campaign. Through powerful stories of resilience, success, and belonging from Canadian Muslims, the campaign also encourages allyship in the face of rising Islamophobia.

At the heart of this campaign is the Canadian Guide to Understanding and Combatting Islamophobia: For a More Inclusive Canada — a practical, easy-to-use tool that helps all Canadians recognize Islamophobia and take meaningful action toward inclusion.

Alongside the Canadian Guide to Understanding and Combatting Islamophobia: For a More Inclusive Canada, these stories highlight what is possible when we stand united: a country where inclusion is more than just a value, it is a daily practice. By listening, learning, and acting together, we can recognize and address Islamophobia in our communities. I encourage everyone to take part in this journey of unity and allyship, to help each other succeed and ensure that everyone has a chance to thrive.

One of the reasons why I love the work that I do in working with youth is because I get to be the adult and the mentor that I wish I had growing up. - Ibrahim

I believe that women are the backbone of society and when we rise, the whole world rises with us. - Jasmine

I try to ensure that every person in the community feels included wherever they are, whether at university or in their workplace. - Amine
