July 19, 2024 I welcome today’s advisory ruling by the International Court of Justice which makes clear what we have long known: Israel’s occupation of East Jerusalem, its occupation of the West Bank in the form of illegal settlements and control over resources, and its control of the borders of Gaza are an illegal occupation under international law.
