July 11 is the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Srebrenica Genocide in Ontario and Canada.
July 11 is this year's Remembrance Day for the Victims of the Srebrenica Genocide in the world.
Continuous tribute to the victims of the genocide is very important for the world to know and accept the historical, scientific and judicial facts about the Srebrenica genocide. So that the world would better learn to build a better future with the victory of truth and justice, as a way to understanding and healing a stumbling civilization.
On the injustice committed to us and on the pain and powerlessness we still feel when we hear the denial of genocide, on the lies that spread and especially when we know that many perpetrators of crimes are still moving freely and celebrated as national heroes we say, your work is in vain, the judgments of the international the courts cannot be overturned by your anti-civilization work.
We must not forget, we must not give up, we must not get tired of reminding the innocent victims of genocide, so that this evil would never happen again anywhere and to anyone.
BIC Hamiton thanks the mayor and the members of the Hamilton Assembly for their continued culture of remembering the greatest crime after World War II in Europe, the genocide in Srebrenica.
This year, as well, the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be lowered at half a spear on the Hamilton Assembly building.
It is important to point out the need for genocide memorialization and collective memory. Through genocide memorialization and collective memory, we are working on historical memory, as an essential factor in resistance to fascism, destruction and aggression. Keeping the memories of the genocide in Srebrenica and Bosnia and Herzegovina, today we strongly affirm universal values: the richness of diversity, antifascism, the sanctity of peace and we are developing activism and international confronting injustices and all deviations of the time in which we live. By preserving the memories of the genocide in Srebrenica and Bosnia and Herzegovina we prevent future genocides at a time when numerous crimes including genocide are happening all over the world.
We will never forget.
