On March 30th, 1976, 6 Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces during demonstrations against a mass Israeli campaign of appropriating Palestinian land that began in May 1975. The demonstrations grew so powerful that this day became known as Land Day or “Yom El Ard” in Palestine and has since been marked as a day of action in Palestine and all over the world.
On March 30th, 2024, join Justice for Palestinians, Independent Jewish Voices, and the Calgary Palestinian Council as we hit the streets again to commemorate this critical day in Palestinian history and resistance. The significance of this day could not possibly be more clear as we count 175 days of genocide in Gaza, and rapid and large scale land grabs in the West Bank.
The forced starvation continues, execution of entire families continues, the siege on Al Shifa hospital continues, targeted obliteration of civilians continues, land grabs continue, attempted censorship continues, murdering aid workers, journalists and medical personnel continues, stories of women being raped in front of their families continue, and we must continue.
PLEASE NOTE this demonstration will be on Saturday to honour Land Day and align with other actions taking place in this day.
