OTTAWA, August 5, 2021 At the Government of Canada’s recent National Summit on Islamophobia, the Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Minister of National Revenue, stated that systemic racism and discrimination are important issues that the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) takes very seriously.
At the National Action Summit on Islamophobia on July 22nd, the Honourable Bardish Chagger, Minister of Diversity and Inclusion and Youth also announced support for 8 projects through the Anti-Racism Action Program that address Islamophobia and aim to remove systemic barriers faced by Muslim communities.

CCMW's Executive Director Nuzhat Jafri participated in the National Summit on Islamophobia earlier today to share the experiences and perspectives of CCMW members and of young women and girls on Islamophobia.
On July 9th, the Honourable Bardish Chagger, the Government of Canada's Minister for Diversity, Inclusion and Youth, announced that "To continue building on Canada's Anti-Racism Strategy, the Government of Canada will host the National Summit on Antisemitism on July 21, and the National Summit on Islamophobia on July 22."
