As outbreaks of the coronavirus spread throughout the world, people are reminded over and again to limit physical contact, wash hands and avoid touching their face. The recent Netflix docuseries “Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak” illustrates how the Islamic ritual washing, known as “wudu,” may help spread a good hygiene message.
The Canadian Muslim Response Network (CMRN), a coalition of some of Canada’s leading Muslim civil society organizations, including Canadian Islamic charities Islamic Relief Canada and IDRF, are joining forces with hundreds of volunteers across Canada, to launch a coordinated and united campaign from the Muslim Community to support the most vulnerable Canadians that have been affected by the COVID-19 Crisis.

Due to concerns over the global spread of the coronavirus – especially in nearby Iran – Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended travel to its holy sites. Millions of Muslims visit the Saudi kingdom around the year for pilgrimage.
