Ottawa Muslim Community Services (OMCS) Annual Ramadan Food Hamper Campaign 2026

2026 marks the 7th Annual Ramadan Food Hamper Program by Ottawa Muslim Community Services (OMCS).

Since 2019, this initiative has been a beacon of hope, fueled by the generosity of donors like you. Together, we have delivered over 2,150 hampers to families in need since our journey began.

This year, the challenge is greater than ever. With the rising cost of living and a growing population of newcomers and refugees in the Ottawa area, more families are turning to us for help. Our goal for 2026 is to provide 450 registered families with the dignity of a fully stocked kitchen for the holy month.

The Need is Urgent

The ongoing rise in food prices means that for many families, a nutritious Suhoor and Iftar feel out of reach. Each hamper is curated to provide essential nutrition and a sense of community care.

Cost per Hamper: $150 A single donation provides an entire family with a month of essentials.

Each hamper includes:

Staples: Basmati Rice, Canola Oil, Flour, Sugar, Pasta & Sauce.

Fresh Produce: Garlic, Potatoes, Onions, Apples, Oranges

Pantry Essentials: Tea, Coffee, Dates, Lentils, Chickpeas, Oatmeal, Cereal.

Spices: Cumin, Black Pepper, Salt, Turmeric.
