Muslim Awards of Excellence (MAX) Mourns the Loss of Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient Dr. Fuad Sahin

It is with profound sadness that the Muslim Awards of Excellence (MAX) heard of the passing of Dr. Fuad Sahin, one of the cornerstones of the Canadian Muslim Community.

Dr. Sahin founded IDRF, an organization that has delivered sustainable development and emergency relief projects to 42 countries in 5 continents over the last 35 years.

A urologist by profession, Dr. Sahin also served as the President of the Council of Muslim Communities of Canada and was also involved in numerous other charitable causes ranging from the Islamic Society of Niagara Peninsula, and groups promoting inter-faith relations.

For his extraordinary commitment to his community and philanthropy, Dr. Fuad Sahin was appointed as a member of the Order of Ontario and recently, as a member of the Order of Canada. He was also the recipient of the MAX Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.

The entire MAX family will forever remember him for his wisdom and his extraordinary service to and love for humanity. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Fuad Sahin. May he rest in eternal peace.
