Sadia Mariam Malik is Assistant Professor in Economics at York University, Toronto. She is an empirical economist with interests in comparative international development and health economics. Dr. Malik holds diverse professional experience that includes research, teaching, and policy advocacy.
Prior to her appointment at York University, she has worked as Research Director, Mahbub ul Haq Human Development Centre in Pakistan. As an independent consultant in international development, she has won several research awards from various international organizations including the World Bank, International Labor Organization, and the Department for International Development, U.K.
As the world enters the third decade of the 21st century, it is waking up to a new reality, facing threats to international solidarity and human security that are not necessarily economic in nature.
