As part of our Voices of the Unseen: Stories of Struggle and Resilience in Multicultural Canada project, we invite you to join our upcoming community event, titled "Invisible Battles: Islamophobia, Newcomers, and the Work-Genocide Struggle."
This virtual panel discussion will unpack the emotional, social, and systemic challenges raised in the Voices of the Unseen Project—from witnessing genocide from afar, to rebuilding as newcomers, to navigating visibility, safety, and identity amid Islamophobia. This conversation invites us to reflect on how people are coping, resisting, and building resilience while navigating multiple forms of grief and exclusion.
The event will run for about 90 minutes. We will begin with a panel discussion, where we will explore three core themes: the work-genocide balance, newcomer realities, and the experience of being visibly Muslim in BC. After that, we will open it up to audience Q&A, and then we will close with a few final reflections from our panelists.
This event is free to attend, but if you could make a small donation to support our work, that would be very much appreciated. You can donate here: https://spheresofinfluence.ca/donate/
