Understanding the Current War in Sudan

Join the Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) for an important community conversation, Understanding the Current War in Sudan.

The current war in Sudan, which erupted on April 15, 2023, has become the world’s largest displacement crisis and one of the most devastating humanitarian crises globally.

This virtual event will create space for learning, reflection, and meaningful dialogue about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan and its impact on Sudanese communities around the world. Through storytelling, education, and discussion, participants will gain deeper insight into the history, realities, and human experiences connected to the conflict.

The session will feature Duha Elmardi, a Sudanese organizer based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. She is the Education Coordinator at CCMW. She is also a member of the Sudan Solidarity Collective.

Together, we invite community members to engage in thoughtful dialogue, build understanding, and stand in solidarity with the people of Sudan.
