The Night We Build is a special Ramadan fundraising iftar hosted by Droplets of Mercy and Sitti Social Enterprise INC, dedicated to turning compassion into action for Gaza evacuees now rebuilding their lives across borders.
This evening brings together community members, advocates, and changemakers for a meaningful iftar centered on dignity, relief, and long-term solutions. The night will feature two powerful guest speakers, Alana Hadid and Jenan Matari, who will share reflections on resilience, displacement, and the responsibility of global communities to move beyond emergency aid toward sustainable support.
This fundraising iftar supports Gaza evacuees in two critical regions:
Ontario, Canada:
Funds raised will directly support an affordable temporary housing initiative for Gaza evacuees arriving in Ontario. The project focuses on the development of container-based homes—safe, dignified, and cost-effective housing units designed to provide stability during resettlement. These homes are intended to bridge the gap between emergency shelter and long-term housing, allowing families to rebuild with security and dignity.
Egypt:
Funds will also support urgent medical aid for Gaza evacuees who have fled to Egypt for treatment. Many evacuees require life-saving surgeries, ongoing care, and medical interventions that are financially out of reach. This portion of the fundraising will help cover treatment costs, hospital care, and essential medical support.
Set during the blessed month of Ramadan, The Night We Build is more than an iftar—it is a collective act of rebuilding. An evening to reflect, connect, and invest in solutions that restore safety, health, and hope.
