Brampton Celebrates Islamic History Month

Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating creativity, culture, and community spirit. The night begins with a heartwarming film screening featuring short films created by youth from our Pocket Film Workshop—real stories, real voices, straight from our community.

Next, immerse yourself in the world of Islamic geometric art with a stunning visual arts reveal by renowned artist and architect Safoura Zahedi. Learn about the deep history and symbolism behind the intricate patterns that have shaped centuries of art and design. You'll also see her unique 3D-printed tile work and discover how ancient tradition meets modern creativity.

We’ll then gather for a fireside chat with special guest Amira Elghawaby, Canada’s Special Representative on Combatting Islamophobia. She’ll speak about her office's vital work and her contributions to equity and inclusion.

We’ll close the evening with a community meal, networking opportunities, and the lighting of the Brampton Clock Tower, followed by a group photo to mark this celebratory moment.
