Were you ever forced to flee your home? Imagine living in a state of constant fear, not knowing what tomorrow holds. Though this is unimaginable for many of us, it is the lived reality for millions of people around the world. There are about 65.6 million forcibly displaced people worldwide.22.5 million of them are refugees.Astonishingly only 189,300 refugees have resettled. The Somali Education Fund will be hosting an event to give refugees a platform to share their stories. Join us as we step outside our comfort zone and confront our privilege. This event is meant to combat the hateful rhetoric against refugees that is seen in the media and in politics today. Speakers will give us a glimpse of the hardships they have experienced and how that has shaped the trajectory of their lives. Interested? Join us for an evening full of courage, heartfelt stories, and a chance to be inspired.
The proceeds from this event will go towards helping underprivileged children receive an education.
