Shaymaa Zantout

Our facilitator, Shaymaa Zantout, is a board member with Green Ummah and an educator/administrator at Windsor Islamic High School. She was one of the first educators to implement Green Ummah's Greening Our Communities Toolkit in 2021 and continues to integrate faith-based environmental education into her classes. Shaymaa holds a Master of Arts in History and a University Teaching Certificate from the University of Windsor, along with a BA in Communication, Media, and Film Studies. She also serves as a board member of the Muslim Chaplaincy at the University of Windsor.

In this session, Shaymaa will share low-prep outdoor teaching strategies, highlight ways to integrate literacy and math into nature-based lessons, and introduce the Green Ummah Environmental Education Toolkit—an Islamic resource that inspires environmental stewardship and spiritual connection through the outdoors.

Whether you teach in an Islamic school or are looking for simple ways to take your classroom outside, this session will offer practical tips, fresh inspiration, and a renewed sense of purpose for the final weeks of school and into the fall.
