Join us on Saturday, March 29, at 2PM at the Human Rights Monument for a march commemorating Land Day.
On March 30, 1976, in an effort to "Judaize the Galilee", the occupation ordered the confiscation of about 5,000 acres of Palestinian land from the Galilee. When protests erupted in Palestine, standing against the Zionist expansion onto their land, six Palestinians were murdered by the occupation. Since then, Palestinians remember every March 30 as Land Day, in memory of the six lives lost, the land dispossessions of 1976, and the brutality of the occupation in response to Palestinian resistance.
We are witnessing right now the occupation's barbarity. In the West Bank, we are watching the Zionist entity terrorize Palestinians as they try to annex their land, killing all that stands in their way. And in Gaza, we are seeing the occupation murder, bomb, and burn our people for daring to resist, daring to desire a life in peace. "Israel's" expansionist plans are as clear as ever.
This Land Day, we will commemorate the six lives lost in 1976, and the thousands of lives lost since in the fight for liberation.
