Sound Vision Canada Exploring Black Muslim History Teacher Training

Sound Vision Canada is excited to offer a FREE teacher training workshop with educator Malika Harris.

This online session will equip educators with the knowledge and resources to teach about the significance of Black Muslim historical figures within an Islamic framework.

Explore strategies to ensure students recognize and appreciate the contributions of Black Muslims in history, society, and Islamic scholarship.

Integrate the stories of Black Muslims into Islamic studies, social studies, and history lessons to promote anti-racism, inclusivity, and the core values of justice in Islam.

Malika Harris is an education advocate, college admissions advisor, and educational consultant. She holds degrees in psychology, adult education, and social work. Malika has more than 15 years of experience working as an Islamic school teacher and guidance counselor. She is currently employed with one of Ontario’s largest colleges. Her life’s work in education motivated her to start S4E (Success for Everyone) Academy. Malika’s passion for anti-racism advocacy and education motivates her to train professionals about the need for inclusion in the Muslim community.
