We are excited to announce that this event is a benefit in support of the local-global partnership between Humanserve International and Beit Atfal Assumoud (BAS) in Lebanon. BAS's Music and Heritage Program will make music a consistent source of empowerment and cultural preservation for camp-based Palestinian youth.  

The Middle Eastern and North African Music Ensemble, MENAME and special guest artists, Belediyya Dance Company present كواكب Kawakib al Sharq, Stars of the East. This concert pays tribute to several stars of the Middle East through performances of their songs, especially Kawkab al-Sharq (Star of the East) Umm Kulthum (1904 - 1975), marking fifty years since her passing. Iranian singers Qamar al-Moluk Vaziri (1905-1959) and Shahram Nazeri (b. 1950) will also be celebrated, and the Kuwaiti singer Abdel Karim Abdel Qadir (1941-2023).
