JOURNALISM AS RESISTANCE:How Afghan Women Journalists Cover the Taliban

Guest speaker is Zahra Nader, a fearless and award-winning journalist who currently serves as the editor-in-chief of The Zan Times, a woman-led investigative newsroom that covers human rights violations in Afghanistan with a focus on women and girls.

The event will be held on the 2nd Floor of Allard Hall at MacEwan University in Edmonton on June 18, 2025 from 7-9 pm.

Tickets include complimentary wine and snacks.

The evening will focus on her talk, followed by a Q & A moderated by local journalist Graham Thomson.

A social and light fun-raiser auction hosted by Sheri Somerville will round out the evening.
