The Government of Canada’s Bill C-232 was passed in November 2021, which designates the month of April as Arab Heritage Month. It is an important month to have because it provides the opportunity and space for Arab Canadians to showcase their culture, their talents and why they are proud to be both Arab and Canadian. The Calgary Arab Arts & Culture Society is a manifestation of that pride.
Beside the Calgary Arab Film Nights Festival, the Calgary Arab Arts & Culture Society has been celebrating the Arab Heritage Month since its designation. In its 4th year, the event has expanded to be an Arab Heritage Night, plus month-long and Alberta-wide activities exhibiting Arab arts & culture.
This year, the Arab Heritage Night will have a variety of artists who are happy to share with you a piece of Arab culture.
