Yasin Osman is a photographer based in Toronto who specializes in evocative images of the living world. Raised in Regent Park as the city began to tear his community down & apart he felt the urge to document everyday life in his changing neighbourhood. Moving on to his first DSLR only enhanced his ability to capture emotion & depth. He has worked with organizations such as UNICEF, Facebook and VICE. The artist recently came back from Africa where he shot stills for Pious Projects in Mali and Ethiopia. The most special thing to Yasin is #ShootForPeace. With an educational background in early childhood education he found a way to mix both his love of children and photography by starting a program in the fall of 2015 for children in his community. After one year the program was sponsored by CANON and has been widely featured in many news articles such as Upworthy, American Photo Mag and most recently CNN. Yasin is currently working on a long term photography project that solely focuses on the Regent Park community. Twitter: YESCENE
