Bi’ithnillah, Izzah Learning Center hopes to inspire our sisters to develop spiritually and personally through the best tool: the Words of Allah (SWT). Our journey begins with learning how to properly recite the words of Allah (SWT), followed by understanding the meanings of His words, leading to our final destination of striving to implement its wisdoms, so we may achieve success in this life and hereafter and benefit our communities.
Our mission is to mentor sisters of all ages and walks of life in the pursuit of one of the most virtuous deeds: Tilawatul (Recitation) and Hifdhul (Memorization) Qur’aan, enabling them to better reflect and contemplate on the words of Allah (SWT).
ØMaster proper Tilawah/Recitation through Talqeen.
ØRecognize & implement Tajweed rules.
ØMemorize/Hifdh parts of or all the Qur’aan.
ØReview chapters already memorized.
ØStrive to understand the meanings of what is recited/memorized.
Language of Instruction
English will be the main language of instruction; however, students will be introduced to Arabic terms related to recitation (tarteel) of Qur’aan, Tajweed, and Islamic concepts.
The Simple & Original Method
Angel Jibreel (AS) sat face to face with Rasoolullah (SAW) to demonstrate and rehearse the proper recitation of the Qur’aan. Rasoolullah (SAW) mastered the art of Qur’aanic recitation despite not knowing how to read or write. In a similar manner, Rasoolullah (SAW) taught the proper recitation of the Qur’aan to the companions (RAA) and they too mastered the art of Qur’aanic recitation. This method is known as Talqeen, where the emphasis and focus is on visual demonstration and rehearsal of the recitation giving adequate time to hear/correct students’ recitations.
Our primary resources are Nooraniyyah book, recitations of Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Akhdar (currently the leading scholar of
Qur’aanic Recitation in Madinah & former Imam of Masjid An-Nabi in Madinah), recordings of Talqeen lessons, and other resources.
