Born in Jordan from a Palestinian father and Iraqi mother, Majed first arrived to Canada in 2004, and has been living in Ottawa since 2012. Throughout the last two decades and continuing journey of studying Islam, Majed acquired ijazas (licenses) to teach Quran, hadeeth and fiqh from scholars in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Qatar, India and the UK.
Majed teaches Fiqh, Seera and Aqeedah with Siraj Institute (http://www.siraj.institute). Majed also teaches entrepreneurship at the University of Ottawa and occasionally volunteers with the Islam Care Centre, SNMC, KMA and the Muslim Student Associations at uOttawa, Carleton U and Algonquin college.
