Ottawa Muslim Cemetery

The Ottawa Muslim Cemetery (OMC) was established to serve the growing Muslim community in the Ottawa-Gatineau region by providing a burial space that follows Islamic funeral rites.

Founded as a not-for-profit, charitable organization (Charitable Registration No. 894375187RR0001), OMC was a vision that took shape in 1994 when efforts began to establish a Muslim cemetery in the Nation’s Capital. After years of dedicated fundraising and perseverance, a suitable plot of land was acquired in 2005, and by 2008, the cemetery obtained its official license.

Today, OMC stands as a Muslim-owned and operated cemetery, ensuring that generations of families can be laid to rest in accordance with Islamic principles.
