The Mosquers is a film festival that aims to educate, entertain and build bridges through showcasing talent and the diverse Muslim experience. Based in Edmonton, Alberta. The Mosquers was started to combat misconceptions about Islam and Muslims, demonstrate our diversity, and provide a channel for talented individuals to express themselves. The Mosquers Awards Ceremony is now a premier event that attracts attention and talent from across North America. The event is comprised of: A red-carpet ceremony The screening of our short-film finalist (typically 6 to 8 films at about 10 minutes per film) A feature entertainment component - previous performers have included world famous comedians Maz Jobrani, Ahmed Ahmed, Azhar Usman, Mohammed Amer, and many others. The Awards presentation as selected by an expert panel of judges (up to $5,000 in awards) - previous judges have included Zarqa Nawaz (creator of "Little Mosque on the Prairie")
