SMILE Canada Farsi Speaking Service Navigator (Full-Time Contract)
SMILE Canada- Support Services is a charity dedicated to supporting racialized children and youth with disabilities and their families.
SMILE’s focus area is diverse Muslim communities including refugee and new immigrant families. Our vision is to support families through various programs and services in a culturally responsive manner.
The SMILE Service Navigator will be responsible for a variety of significant activities including internal operations and acting as a liaison between external service providers and families. They will be instrumental in ensuring consistent and effective internal processes and communications are applied in order to strengthen SMILE’s not-for-profit programs and position the organization for continued success.
Service Navigator Highlights:
- Conduct thorough Needs Assessments with families in both Farsi and English to accurately identify their support and service requirements.
- Facilitate appropriate referrals for SMILE clients to external services and resources to address their specific needs.
- Develop comprehensive and culturally safe care plans and establish strong, supportive relationships with families to ensure ongoing assistance and engagement.
- Provide guidance to families in completing necessary forms and applications for funding and services.
- Conduct research on available community resources and programs to identify the most effective care plans tailored to the unique needs of each family.
- Collaborate with the executive team and team leads to ensure alignment of programmatic goals with the organization’s broader objectives.
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts by establishing clear operational benchmarks, timelines, and resource requirements to facilitate successful program implementation.
- Support SMILE’s research and education team with program evaluation activities, including the development and management of data collection systems and program assessments.
- Prepare and deliver detailed data summaries and evaluation reports to key internal stakeholders, including the executive committee and team leads.
- Lead the management and growth of SMILE’s parent support groups, working to expand the program nationally and enhance its reach and impact for families.
Qualifications:
University or college degree or commensurate experience in healthcare, social work, social science, development, or equivalent.
Knowledge in community resources mobilization and development.
1-2 years or more experience in case management.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Farsi.
- Knowledge of project management and project design.
- Excellent team building and networking capabilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications (GSuite, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Hours & Compensation:
Full-time position, 40 hours per week
Salary (Estimate): $43,000 - 48,000.
