ICNA Relief Canada is hiring an Accountant for its office in Montreal. This individual assuming this position will be responsible for preparing, examining, and maintaining financial records and accounts of the ICNA Relief Canada.
Responsibilities and Duties:
ICNA Relief Canada is hiring an Accountant for its Mississauga head office. This individual assuming this position will be responsible for preparing, examining, and maintaining financial records and accounts of the ICNA Relief Canada. The individual will be required, but not limited to receive, manage and process cash/cheque/point of sale/in-kind donations, manage monthly credit card & EFT donations, manage and collect pledges, process payroll on a monthly or as needed basis, file and remit payroll deductions, EHT on a monthly or as needed basis, issue T4s and file T4 summary for all accounts, prepare HST rebate filing, prepare bank deposits on a regular basis, prepare financial statements on Monthly/Quarterly/Annual basis, collection of cash and counting of donations, liaison with financial institutions on behalf of the organization, coordinate and issue Tax Deductible receipts for donors, reconcile accounts on regular monthly basis, assist in annual audit of financial statements, file Annual Charities Returns with CRA, prepare annual budget, coordinate accounting for fundraising events, and manage accounting files and records.The individual assuming this role is expected to think analytically and work efficiently with a high degree of accuracy.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must have completed University or a College Diploma either in Finance, Accounting or Equivalent; a minimum of two years of experience in preparation of accounting, preparation of financial statements using QuickBooks Accounting software and payroll. Must have strong aptitude for numbers; a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently; excellent time-management and organization skills demonstrating the ability to multitask with precision in each task; must be a team player and willing to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy workloads; exceptional attention to detail; Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal; IT proficiency is a great asset as well.
