Muslim Youth Narratives Project: Call for Participants (Ages 18 to 25) for Interview
Salam,
I'm Maryam Qureshi, a Muslim PhD student in psychology at the University of Calgary.
In my research I'm interested in:
How young adults navigate their Muslim identity. What does it mean to you to be Muslim in the context of Islamophobia?
And what are the stories of your religious identity journey?
My curiosity in this topic arose out of personal interest and research into Muslim community mental health
Who: I’m looking to interview Muslim young adults aged 18-25 who would like to discuss their Muslim identity journeys.
What: We'll do a 1.5hr one on one interview reflecting on identity (audio-recorded). You'll also have the option of doing a short guided art piece on the topic of identity.
Where: Interviews will take place on campus in a meeting room or Zoom if you are not able to make it to campus.
When: Summer 2024 I'll be doing interviews. After that you'll get an email to edit your transcript and in the fall/winter you’ll get an email to provide any comments on my written results Inshallah!
