Arrest made in hate-motivated incident on OC Transpo (Islamophobic Attack in Kanata)

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has arrested a man today following the August 11th assault of a Muslim woman on board an OC Transpo bus in Kanata.
The 30-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with:
- Criminal harassment x 3
- Assault
- Uttering threats to cause death/bodily harm
- Inciting hate in a public place
Due to mental health being a contributing factor, we won't be naming the suspect. He appeared in court today.
The OPS thank their partners at OC Transpo for their quick response and assistance in the investigation.
