Supreme Court of Canada Grants National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) Leave to Intervene in Bissonnette Sentencing Case

The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM)/Le Conseil national des musulmans Canadiens (CNMC) is pleased to be granted leave to intervene by the Supreme Court of Canada in Attorney General of Quebec and Her Majesty the Queen v. Alexandre Bissonnette (Que.) (39544).
"We know that Quebec Muslims and Muslims across Canada continue to be gravely impacted by the actions of the Quebec City mosque shooter. While there is no getting around the fact that the families of the victims continue to re-live the tragedy of losing their loved ones as this case drags on, the questions from Quebec Muslims about justice - and about what is cruel and unusual punishment - are critical ones that need to be answered" said Mustafa Farooq, CEO of the National Council of Canadian Muslims.
