Free admission, but donations are welcome!Enjoy traditional pitha and mishti (Bangali desserts) while shopping for your next outfit in the bazaar area. Feast on mouthwatering chotpoti or biryani while the children do facepainting and games. Get some henna on, or maybe even become the next shokti shali arm wrestling champion. Bring your best artwork to our mela and you could win some lovely prizes! Rules below and in attached poster:1.Theme of artwork must be 'Fun at the Mela or Fair'2.Draw or paint on 8.5x11" regular paper or any other material that is the same size3.Put your NAME, AGE and PHONE NUMBER on the BACK of your artwork4.Any mark or identifying information on the front of the artwork will be disqualified5.Submit your artwork at the CWC Activity table before 3PM6.Winner(s) will be announced at 4PM and must be present to collect prize(s)________________________________DRESS IN YOUR FINEST SAARIDress your girls in traditional Bengali saari as we hope to raise awareness together on the rights of women and young girls in Bangladesh. But everyone is encouraged to dress in their finest too!________________________________About Cure for Women and Children (CWC)Two years ago, we asked for support from the Ottawa community to improve health access for impoverished women and children in Bangladesh.
The response was of tremendous kindness which helped provide fundings for 35 SURGERIES and 15 MEDICAL EQUIPMENT. That's 35 women and countless children who have better access to healthcare and a respectable, dignified life. All thanks to community members like you!
