We acknowledge that this event is taking place on the traditional, unceded territories of the Algonquin nation. Are you a young person (ages 15 to 30) in Ottawa? Have something to say about youth employment and your experiences?Join us for a workshop on May 26, 2019 from 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM at 130 Wellington Street to talk about your employment experiences with other youth in and around Ottawa, your hopes for the future of work and the part that youth play in this larger discussion. We invite youth to share their employment experiences, concerns and insights with us through a series of group activities and discussions. In sharing our diverse experiences with one another, we become aware of recurring resources, barriers and beliefs held by other young people, providing the opportunity to come together and envision the future of work inclusive of all of us.Information collected during the workshop will be transformed into recommendations for local youth-serving organizations, as well as relevant civil society and government bodies. Representatives and resources from youth employment programs will be present for youth interested in community service and employment opportunities. This project is inspired by SDG 8, the #Shape7 Initiative and the ILO Future of Work Centenary Initiative.Register online here
