~ Back by popular demand, this March, The Afghan Women’s Centre will once again be hosting a food exposition! ~This will be a unique opportunity for you to try a wide variety of delicious traditional dishes from Afghanistan and learn more about our rich culture! The dishes will all be catered with so much love & care by our very own Afghan Women's Catering group. Come try a variety of juicy tender kebabs, herbed rice, fresh naans, diverse vegetarians dishes and much more! Did we mention an all-you-can-eat buffet for only $12 ? All proceeds will go towards supporting the Afghan Women's Catering group. Afghan Women’s Catering is a project of the Afghan Women’s Centre of Montreal, consisting of a group of hard-working women who have recently come to Canada. Aware of the hardships of adjusting to a new society, the centre’s mission is to provide refugee and immigrant women an opportunity for engagement in the community. The centre supports their transition into the Montreal society by providing language classes, cultural events, workshops, and more.****To learn more about our catering services, click here
Afghan food is influenced by Persian, Indian, Chinese and Mediterranean cultures. Afghanistan’s main crops are maize, wheat, and rice, although the country’s varied climate and geography make it possible for almost any food to grow there! Dishes are commonly made with plenty of coriander, garlic, tomatoes, onion and fresh yoghurt. You’ll get a taste of what that’s like soon enough!
