Join the Assunnah Muslim Association (AMA) Team this summer and help facilitate programs for thousands of participants (children, youth, women, families, new immigrants, refugees and seniors)
Position: Program Coordinator
Duration: 9 weeks
Hours: 30 hours / week
Responsibilities:
- As a Coordinator at the AMA Centre, you will play a crucial role in supporting and delivering a variety of community programming initiatives. This position requires a dynamic individual who can manage and execute multicultural events, workshops, and festivities throughout the summer, catering to a diverse audience of up to 1,000+ participants.
- Provide logistical support for AMA programs targeting children, youth, women, families, new immigrants, refugees, and seniors.
- Ensure the successful implementation of each program activity at the Centre.
- Facilitate unique programs supporting marginalized communities and youth.
- Assist in initiatives to meet the emerging needs of the community, supporting community-based and nonprofit organizations.
- Plan and organize multicultural festivals and bazaars to celebrate Canada’s diversity and support local small businesses.
- Participate in the planning process to ensure sufficient resources for program operations.
- Help plan large community events for various demographics, including summer camps and Eid celebrations.
- Engage stakeholders and service delivery partners to support programs in AMA’s catchment area.
- Create marketing content, such as posters and promotional videos, and distribute these through email newsletters, social media, bulletin boards, and community partners.
Skills:
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Creative thinking with an eye for community engagement.
- Experience in event coordination and working with diverse populations is an asset.
- Graphic design and basic video editing experience is a plus.
