Location: Canada

A 19-year-old woman lies unconscious in the ICU after a devastating hit-and-run, lets help her family carry the burden of healing, hope, and recovery.

In a single, terrifying moment, a 19-year-old young woman’s life was changed forever.

.

While crossing the street in Markham with the right of way, she was struck by a vehicle making a left turn. The impact was violent and unforgiving. She was carried on the hood of the car before falling to the road, and the driver fled without stopping, leaving her critically injured and alone.

This devastating incident was covered by CP24, with York Regional Police providing updates as the investigation continues:

Today, she lies in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in stable but critical condition. She has undergone emergency brain surgery due to the severity of her injuries and is currently in a medically induced coma, supported by a ventilator as doctors work tirelessly to stabilize her and protect her brain. She has not yet regained consciousness.

Her parents and loved ones remain at her bedside day and night- watching monitors, holding her hand, praying, and waiting for the moment she opens her eyes. No family should ever have to endure this level of fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak.

The road ahead will be long and deeply challenging. Once she is brought out of sedation, she is expected to face extensive rehabilitation, facial surgery, and ongoing medical care, which may include additional procedures as part of her recovery journey. Beyond the immense physical trauma, the emotional toll on her family is overwhelming, and the financial strain is growing by the day. Hospital care, rehabilitation services, specialized treatments, and lost income are quickly becoming an unbearable burden.

.

While authorities search for answers, her family is focused on one thing and one thing only: her survival and recovery.

We are asking our community to come together during this critical time. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward medical expenses, rehabilitation, and easing the daily financial burden, allowing her family to remain by her side without the added stress of how they will manage in the days and months ahead.

As we are in the blessed month of Ramadan, we are reminded of the generosity of our beloved Prophet ﷺ: “The Prophet ﷺ was the most generous of people, and he was even more generous in Ramadan…” (Bukhari 1902)

This is a time for mercy, for standing beside those who are hurting, and for being a means of relief. Please keep this young woman and her family in your duʿāʾ. If you are able to give, your contribution- small or large, can make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page is also a powerful act of support. May this weigh heavy in your book of good deeds. Ameen.

Let us show her parents and loved ones that they are not alone and that their community is standing with them every step of the way.
